Welcome to the First Asia-Pacific Scientific Meeting on Foot and Ankle Surgery! This meeting, to be held from October 28th to 30th, 2011 in Chongqing, P. R. China, is jointly organized by Chongqing Municipal Government, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and the Preparatory Committee of Asia-Pacific Society for Foot and Ankle Surgery; and it is co-sponsored by Chongqing Science and Technology Commission, Chinese Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, and Southwest Hospital, The Third Military Medical University.
The 1st Scientific Meeting, as the most important project of the 2nd International R & D Institution Mission to Chongqing, is anticipated to bring more than 600 hundred foot and ankle surgeons to participate in the Meeting, including foot and ankle societies’ presidents and experts from Australia, Belgium, Chile, China, China Hong Kong, China Macau, China Taiwan, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Slovakia, Switzerland, the Netherlands, UK, USA, Wales, etc., and has received more than three hundred papers on foot and ankle surgery. The meeting includes invited lectures, symposia, free reports, discussion, electronic posters and satellite symposia.
Chongqing is well known for its Hotpot and fascinating Night Scenes of this “Mountain City”. As one of the most significant transport hubs and open inland ports on upper reaches of Yangtze River and Southwest China, Chongqing is the largest and youngest Municipality directly under the central government of China. the First Asia-Pacific Scientific Meeting on Foot and Ankle Surgery, being a milestone in the development of the science of foot and ankle, is bound to nourish and enrich itself ceaselessly with the progress of the times and advancement of this youthful city, sequentially becoming a significant window and carrier for international cooperation on foot and ankle surgery.
